Mr. James Odell Freeman, passed away, Thursday, October 12, 2017, at Dundee Manor in Bennettsville after an illness surrounded by his loving family. He was 77.

Born May 27, 1940 in Blenheim, SC. He was a son of the late Odell and Rose Driggers Freeman. He was a graduate of Lower Marlboro High School. He was a self-employed painter and handy-man. He was a member of Blenheim United Methodist Church and attended Victory World Outreach Center in Bennettsville. He enjoyed reading his Bible and watching ball games.

He is survived by; sons, Tony Freeman and wife Annie of Bennettsville and Mitchell Freeman and wife Michelle of Bennettsville; daughter, Lori Freeman of Bennettsville; brothers, Skeet Freeman of California, Luther Freeman of Bennettsville, and Prentiss Freeman and wife Eleanor of California; 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents listed above; wife Betty Lou Polston Freeman; brother, Gable Freeman.

A funeral service will be held 2:00pm, Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Victory World Outreach Center, 535 David’s Pond Road, Bennettsville, SC 29512, with burial at Parnassus United Methodist Church cemetery in Blenheim, SC officiated by Rev. J.R. Chavis. A visitation will be held from 6-8pm on Friday, October 13, 2017 at the church.
