Mr. Royce Eugene Hardee, age 64, passed away suddenly on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at his residence, after an illness.
Born in Tabor City, NC, on July 17, 1952, he was the son of Eugene Hardee and the late Opal Bullard Hardee. He attended Northview Harvest Ministries in Laurinburg, NC. He was a graduate of Tabor City High School and furthered his education at Chesterfield – Marlboro Technical School earning a degree in Heating & Cooling. Royce worked in HVAC with Carrier Heating & Cooling as an expert technician for over 35 years.
He was an avid NASCAR fan, enjoyed fishing, was a Mason and member of the Marlboro Masonic Lodge #88 having been inducted on April 26, 1979. He will be remembered as a loyal friend, devoted husband, son, father, and brother.
Funeral services will be held 3:30 P.M. on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at Burroughs & Cooper Home officiated by Pastor Kenneth Blease. Burial, with Masonic Rites will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Bennettsville. The family will greet friends at the funeral home from 7:00 P.M. – 9:00 P.M. on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at Burroughs & Cooper Funeral Home.
Royce is survived by his father Eugene Savage Hardee of Bennettsville; his loving wife of 27 years, Sandra Jean Quick Hardee of their home in Laurinburg; by two devoted daughters, Chellie Brooke Hardee and Amy Love Hardee both of Laurinburg, NC; by brothers, Chris Hardee (Nickie) of Bennettsville, Donnie Hardee of Myrtle Beach, SC and Greg Hardee of Bennettsville; by his loving-in-laws, John and Virginia Quick of Bennettsville; by sister-in-law’s, Laura Hardee of Florence, Judy Odom and Susie Tolson both of Bennettsville; also by numerous nieces & nephews.
Royce was preceded in death by his mother listed above; and by a brother, Ronnie Hardee.
