Mrs. Virginia Kathryn Jackson Graham, age 71, passed away Saturday, March 11, 2017, after a brief illness.
Born October 24,1945, she was a daughter of the late Elbert Jackson Sr. and Virginia Kathryn Smith Jackson. She attended Savannah State College and Northeastern Technical College. She was employed with the Marlboro County Public School System where she worked as a teacher’s aide, helping children with special needs. She was a member of the Bennettsville First Church of the Nazarene where she wore many hats. She was vice-president of the Ladies’ Circle, taught Children’s Church, sang in the choir, served as a Sunday School teacher for 15 years and was a chairperson over the many meals the church provided. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading and playing pinochle with her husband. She also loved going to the beach with her sister and going bowling. Her favorite color was green.
She is survived by her husband; Robert Lee Graham Sr. of the home; her sons, Robert Schleich (Angela) of Jacksonville, FL, Charles Schleich (Kathryn) of Charleston, SC, Michael Schleich of Cincinnati, OH, Anthony Chiavaro (Jennifer) of Bennettsville, SC; her daughters, Candice Tucker of Syracuse, NY, Lynn Godfrey (Mark) of Portland, OR; her brother, Elbert Jackson, Jr. (Veronica) of Hilton Head Island, SC; her sister, Lela Foster (Charles) of Fairfax, VA; 15 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, March 18, 2017 at the Bennettsville First Church of the Nazarene. A visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. just prior to the memorial service.
She is preceded in death by her parents listed above and a son, Robert Lee Graham, Jr.
