Frances Claudette Dickerson Shelton, age 76, passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2018.
Claudette was born in Birmingham, Alabama, the daughter of the late Raymond Dickerson and Rebecca Chapman Dickerson. She worked many years as a nurse for doctors May and Whitner in Bennettsville and as a Surgical Technician at Marlboro Park Hospital. She enjoyed caring for people. She loved to travel and especially enjoyed going on cruises. She also enjoyed doing crafts, and playing games such as dominoes, badminton, and I-Spy puzzles. She enjoyed watching football and loved decorating her home for the season and holidays throughout the year. She especially loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband David L. Shelton; a son Ira Scott Shelton and wife Susan of Midway, Kentucky; daughters Debra Lane Shelton and husband Chuck Archambeault of Cincinnati, Ohio and Sandy Diane Lowman and husband James of Elgin, SC; a brother-in-law Gerald Shelton and wife Malia; a cousin Beverly Harrel and husband John; and five grandchildren, Marilyn Archambeault, Jeremy Shelton, Jack Shelton, Wesley Lowman, and Luke Lowman.
Claudette was preceded in death by her parents listed above and her granddaughters Rebecca Archambeault and Brenna Laine Shelton.
To honor Claudette’s life, memorials may be made to the American Red Cross, 1601-A West Lucas Street, Florence, SC 29501.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Burroughs Funeral Home at 11:00 am with a 10:00 am to 11:00 am visitation just prior to the service.
