Emily Jean (Mudd) Driggers

October 14, 1939 ~ January 19, 2019 (age 79)

Bennettsville

Mrs. Emily Jean Mudd Driggers passed away, Saturday, January 19, 2019, at her residence after an illness. She was 79.

Mrs. Driggers was born in Bennettsville, SC on October 14, 1939. She was a daughter of the late John William and Lorraine Grant Mudd. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, where she was a former MYF leader. She was a retail specialist for Catoe’s, Larry’s Dept. Store, and IGA.  Mrs. Driggers enjoyed skating, cooking, gardening, and spending time with her family.

Mrs. Driggers was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years; Jasper Monroe “JM” Driggers; daughter, Karen Driggers Haithcock; brother, Roger Mudd; great-grand Baby Keating.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory; daughters, Pat Altman (Robert) of Bennettsville and Linda D. Griggs (Glenn) of Bennettsville; grandchildren, Bill Altman, Patrick Altman (Colby), Carl Keating, Jr., Dee Keating, Angie Keating, Amy Coleman, Tina Locklear, and Junior Haithcock (Ashleigh); great grandchildren, Robert, Emma, Hailey, Josh, Chris, Austin, Dylan, Michael, Cutler, Logan, Lindsay, Trece, Paxton; great-great grandchildren, Noah and Braydon.

A funeral service will be held 2 pm, Tuesday, January 22, 2019, at Christ United Methodist Church, with burial at Hebron Cemetery, officiated by Pastor Wade Everett and Rev. Tom Williams. A visitation will be held from 6-8 pm at Burroughs Funeral Home, Monday, January 21, 2019.
