Lillie Jackson Brown, 73, passed away Friday, August 9, 2019 at her daughter’s residence in Florence, after a lengthy illness.
Born May 8, 1946 in Marlboro County, she was a daughter of the late George Washington “G.W.” and Margaret Hyatt Jackson. Mrs. Lillie was a graduate of Lower Marlboro High School and was retired Insurance Clerk with Oak River Mills. She was a member of Salem Baptist Church, where she was a former Sunday School Teacher and GA’s Leader. She enjoyed gardening and working in her yard when she was able. She loved her family and her animals, especially her cat Charlie.
She is survived by her husband, Robert “Bobby” Brown, of the home in Timmonsville; her son, Phil Nolan (Lisa) of Bennettsville; her daughter, Shannon Nolan Coker (Michael) of Florence; grandchildren, Reva Danielle Nolan and Clayton Tyler Freeman (Tiffany); great grandchildren, Kendale Storm Sweatt and Kaydence Booth.
She was preceded in death by her parents listed above; brothers, Joseph Ranald Jackson, Troy Leonard Jackson and Curtis Harold Jackson, Sr.; and sister, Sadie Jackson Watters.
A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Monday, August 12, 2019 at Salem Baptist Church, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. on Sunday, August 11, 2019 at Burroughs Funeral Home.
