Linda Sue (Butler) Chavis

April 6, 1957 ~ September 2, 2019 (age 62)

Bennettsville

Mrs. Linda Sue Butler Chavis passed away Monday, September 2, 2019 at MUSC Florence after an illness. She was 62 years old.

Mrs. Chavis was born on April 6, 1957 in Ft. Benning, Ga. to the late James M. “Jimmy”, Jr. and Margaret Brand Butler. She was a member of Spirit and Truth Ministries and attended Salem Baptist Church. She was employed with Domtar where she worked as a Mill Tech on the Fiber Line. Mrs. Chavis enjoyed reading, watching hummingbirds, helping others, and loved to donate blood.

She leaves behind to cherish her loving memory; daughters, Michelle Chavis Wise (Guerry) of Bennettsville and Chris Chavis (Tiffany) of McColl; brother, Billy Butler (Susan) of McColl; sisters, Dianne West (Norman), Patricia Brigman, and Joyce Marie Oxendine of Bennettsville; 4 grandchildren, Dylan Wise (Katie) of Colorado, Eric Clyburne, II, Kayden Clyburn, and Ashton Eppolito of McColl; a special friend, Drew Morles.

She was preceded in death by her parents listed above and brother, Donald Eugene Butler.

A celebration of life will be held 10am, Saturday, September 7, 2019 at the Old Spirit and Truth Ministries Church in Tatum across from Roller Carpet. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

In Lieu of Flowers: The family ask if you could donate blood to the Red Cross in honor of Mrs. Linda or support the Community Kitchen in Bennettsville, 126 S. Liberty Street, Bennettsville, SC 29512, monetarily or with an act of service.
