Roy Edward Haithcock, age 70, died Monday, December 2, 2019 at Randolph County Hospice House in Asheboro, NC.
Born August 30, 1949 in Marlboro County to the late Edward and Hellen Virginia Billings Haithcock. Roy served his country faithfully as he was drafted during the Vietnam War. During his time of service he received many accommodations that include the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 2 Bronze Service Stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Purple Heart and Combat Infantryman Badge. Returning home, Roy worked for Oak River and in the construction field. He enjoyed hunting, fishing where he was a member of the Adamsville fishing club and watching NASCAR.
Roy leaves behind to cherish his memory, wife, Patricia Ann Herring Haithcock; brother, Marvin Haithcock of Bennettsville; sisters, Mary Sue Pate of Lake City, SC, Patricia Adams (Joe) of Society Hill, SC, Elizabeth Mae Lime of Venedy, Il.; his first cousin and fishing buddy, Danny Clay; special friend, Janice Landreth of Lexington, NC; and numerous nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in the death by his parents listed above. A funeral service will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday, December 5, 2019 at Burroughs Funeral Home and burial will follow at Hebron Cemetery in Clio.
A visitation will be held from 10-11 A.M. prior to the funeral service at Burroughs Funeral Home.
