Mrs. Frances Black Lewis passed away Monday, October 26, 2020 at McLeod Health Cheraw. She was 91 years old.
Mrs. Frances was born in Bennettsville on August 10, 1929 to the late Robert Newton and Mary Cooper-Smith Black. Frances retired from Suburban Propane, where she served as an Administrative Assistant. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church. She loved worshiping with her church family, reading her daily devotional each morning after breakfast, reading a good book, and playing cards.
Mrs. Frances leaves behind to cherish her loving memory daughter; Sarah Cooper Lewis Peay (Bob) of Monroe, Ga; daughter-in-law; Fran Lewis of Bennettsville; grandchildren; Heath Lewis (Gail), Kristen Knudson (Blair), Jamie Shear, Emily Przybylski; great grandchildren; Kaleigh, Tinsley, Graham, Jake, Noah, Owen, Asher, Izzy, and Wells.
She was preceded in death by her parents listed above; sons; Reid Lewis and Larry Lewis; daughter-in-law; Sylvia Lewis; brothers; Robert Cooper Black, Bernard N Black, Harold Black, Charles Black, and Ben Black; sisters; Carolyn Covington, Mary Elizabeth Black.
A Graveside service will be held Friday, October 30, 2020 at 2:00pm at Salem Baptist Church Cemetery, officiated by Reverend Ken Carter. A visitation will be held from 7:00-9:00pm on Thursday, October 29, 2020, at Burroughs Funeral Home.
