Mr. Roy Lee Stroud, Jr, passed away at the age of 59, on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at his residence after an extended illness.
Roy was born in Lumberton, NC, on April 18, 1961, to Roy Lee Stroud, Sr. and Margaret Hayes Squires. He attended First United Methodist Church in Bennettsville. He also served in the United States Army and was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Bennettsville, both of which he was very proud of.
Roy was a devoted husband and father, and his family was the most important part of his life. He loved them more than anything in the world. He frequently told each of his daughters how proud he was of them. Amongst other things he loved were the Clemson Tigers, even with the house divided.
Roy loved to laugh and joke around, both of which he was very well known for. He took pride in tending to his yard, loved to golf, loved to dance, and spend time relaxing on his back porch listening to his favorite music.
He leaves behind to cherish his loving memory; his wife of nearly 40 years, Sheila Owens Stroud; daughters, Brittany Stroud Branch and husband Josh, Chelsea Elizabeth Stroud and boyfriend Cody Farrier; father, Roy Lee Stroud, Sr. and wife Inez; mother, Margaret Hayes Squires; brother, Troy Stroud and wife Karie; sisters, Kimberly Balkus and husband Tommy, and Sherry Stroud; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Roy lived life to the fullest, was loved by many, and will be missed tremendously.
